Group B: Information Security Threats, Risks and Cybercrimes Class Activity

Scenario:
Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has recently experienced several information security incidents. Some students have reported receiving emails that appear to come from the university asking them to log into the student portal using a provided link. A number of students entered their usernames and passwords, after which their accounts were accessed by unknown individuals.

At the same time, the university's IT department discovered that some computers in the administration offices had been infected with malware. Important student records and examination results became inaccessible, and the attacker’s demanded money before the files could be restored. The IT department also noticed attempts to gain unauthorized access to the university's network using stolen staff credentials.
